An alternative to FTP is the cPanel File Manager. It is a very useful feature of cPanel. Quite often you will find the File Manager to be more easy and efficient to complete a task than using FTP.
To access the File Manager login to cPanel and click the File Manager icon. A new window will open and you can view the file structure, upload files, download files, create new files, edit files, delete files etc. You can also compress files and folders or unpack/extract compressed folders. There is even a basic HTML editor if you need it.
