Transferring Domain Name Registration to Us
This article relates to transferring a domain name registration to us. It does not relate to transferring website files, transferring a website is different to transferring a domain registration. Transferring domain registration means your domain name registration will be renewed and invoiced by us when it comes due for renewal.IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR .AU DOMAIN TRANSFERS:
The transfer process for .au domains takes 48hrs to complete after the confirmation link has been clicked.For .au domain transfers you will receive a confirmation email from our parent company The Great Aussie Surfshop Pty Ltd Domain Name Services.The email will be sent to the domain contact email set at the current domain Registrar login. You can check which email this is via the https://whois.auda.org.au/ website domain WHOIS.The email will contain a link which requires clicking to confirm and start the transfer process. After clicking the confirmation link the transfer will take 48 hours to complete and the domain details (eg. name servers) can not be updated until the transfer process has completed.If you want to use your web hosting account with us straight away then you should update the nameservers to ours before clicking the confirmation link which starts the transfer process.You will receive a notification email once the transfer has completed. You may then login to your client area to manage your domain.IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR OTHER DOMAIN TRANSFERS:
The transfer process can take 5-7 days to complete (can be longer for different domains).For other domains that are not .au domains the confirmation email will be sent after the transfer has completed. The email will contain a confirmation link to confirm the registrant contact email address. The link needs to be clicked to confirm the registrant contact email address. If the link is not clicked in a certian period if time (time varies for different domains) the domain will be deactivated until the link has been clicked.Please note that once a domain enters the transfer process the domain details (eg. name servers) can not be updated until the transfer has completed.If you want to use your web hosting account with us straight away then you should update the name servers to ours before ordering a domain transfer.You will receive a notification email once the transfer has completed. You may then login to your client area to manage your domain.
