A change of .au domain registrant ownership and ABN requires re-registration of the domain name and confirmation from the previous and new ABN owners via the domain registrant contact email.
The process is initiated manually by us with the Registrar. We have to manually create an invoice first, once paid we can start the process with the Registrar. The cost is $33.
Once the ownership transfer is initiated you will receive a series of confirmation emails from the Registrar to the old and new registrants email addresses which contain confirmation links that need to be clicked to continue along the process at each stage. During this process you will need to enter the new ABN details into an online form.
The Registrar will then confirm the ownership transfer which is usually within the same day of the last confirmation link being clicked.
Once the ownership transfer has completed the previous owners existing registration period will be cancelled and a new registration period will begin starting from the current date.
